The Armada awards Okatent the installation of three shelters at the Rota Naval Base
The Armada has awarded Okatent the installation of three Shelter-type structures at the Rota Naval Base (Cádiz). The project aims to create new covered spaces to protect vehicles, materials and equipment that are currently exposed to the environmental conditions of the maritime surroundings.
The three structures will be mobile metal structures covered with canvas, intended to protect semi-heavy vehicles from Vehicle Park Number 5, as well as materials, equipment and auxiliary machinery from the base’s Electrical Substation.
Continuous exposure to factors such as humidity, salinity, solar radiation and rainfall can accelerate the deterioration of these elements, so the new shelters will help improve their preservation and storage conditions.
The project includes two structures measuring 14.63 × 18.29 metres and a third measuring 14.01 × 15.10 metres, all with an approximate height of 6.1 metres. The structures will have enclosed sides and upper roofs, as well as different front access configurations. In addition, the project includes the necessary works for the installation of foundations, electrical lines and the systems associated with each structure.
